WHY SHOULD WE GIVE?

We at Fresh Wind Ministries believe in three-dimensional giving:
1. Tithes
2. Offerings
3. First fruits
(Three is the number of rule, government and authority in the Kingdom of God; just look at the Trinity; death, burial and resurrection; baptize in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit)

1. Tithes - power blessing:
Mal. 3: 10 – 12 / Deut. 26: 12 – 19 / Heb. 7: 1 - 10 / Gen. 14: 18 – 24 / 15: 1
• Provides for God’s house and the full time staff of that house
• Provides for the stranger, orphan and widow; so that they may eat and be filled
• It belongs to God
• This entitles you to God’s blessing of empowerment
• God rebukes the devourer on your behalf (in other words, protects your income).
• God calls you part of His nation and He elevates you
• Prove God in this, He is true to His Word
• The windows of heaven will be opened and you’ll begin to see and receive things you never have before, even blessings you cannot contain. Can you contain spiritual things like anointing, vision etc?
• According to Heb. 7 tithing was instituted some 400 years before the law

2. Offerings - exchange
Gal. 6: 7 / 2 Cor. 9: 6 - 9 / Luke 6: 38 / Prov. 11: 24,25
• In exchange for your offering, you receive God’s blessing (whatever you believe God for)

Phill. 4: 19 / Prov. 19: 17 / 28: 27
• This is what you can expect when you give to missions and the poor

3. First fruits - increase (PRIESTLY OFFERING)
Lev. 23: 10 & 14 / Deut. 26: 1 – 11 / Ezek. 44: 28 – 30 / Prov. 3: 9 & 10 / Romans 11: 16 / 1 Cor. 4 / Gal. 6: 6 - 10
• It belongs to God
• It had to be brought to the priest of the day (in our terms – our Pastor)
• With it, they had to worship God for His goodness
• The priest blessed it
• This signified that the whole harvest would be blessed and that they would continue to increase
• In Joshua 6: 17 – 19 and 26 – 27 we see that the spoil of the first battle for the Promised Land had to go to God (this was their first fruits for the rest of the battles in the promised land). The rest of the spoil from all the other battles they could keep. We know now that they did continue to increase and eventually possessed the land in full.

Leviticus 27: 26, 28 and 30 = 3-in-1
